Pray for Priests -
In response to the World Day of Prayer
for the Sanctification of Priests called by the Congregation for
the Clergy on May 30, 2008, a group of parishioners of Christ
the King, Courtenay devised a method by which our priests will be
prayed for daily. You are urged to visit the website at
http://www.prayforpriests.ca for
details of the method. Everyone is invited to sign up to pray
daily for those in our diocese in Holy Orders. The personal details
of the person praying are kept confidential. The individuals being
prayed for will be tallied in the website, This is a real and
effective way to show our appreciation of our priests."
Thank you.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, "Well, that's not going to happen."
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
The other night I ate at a real family restaurant. Every table had an argument going.
Have you noticed since everyone has a camcorder these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to.
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Grand
Knight Murray Wilson (left) and Bro. Al
Astles (centre) accept
a donation cheque from Quality Foods manager, Dan
Gigliotti. The
donation was provided by Quality Foods in gratitude for services
rendered by several brother Knights who directed traffic at the
Quality Foods parking lot during the hectic last few days of shopping
before Christmas. The exercise was reported to be a rousing success!

The
Comox Military Family Resource Centre, which provides services
to the military community by offering deployment support services
to married members and their families, have extended their
mandate to include the next-of-kin of single military members
who are on operational deployment. In an attempt to reach as many
families as possible on North Vancouver Island who could benefit
from this service, an information package has been provided to
the Dr. Tillman Briggs Council 4597 for the benefit of our membership.
The introductory documents can be viewed here,
or you can peruse the entire information package by contacting
the Grand Knight.
The
Editorial Committee for our 50th Anniversary are requesting anecdotal
information to add to their growing research of our Council's
history for a booklet that is to be produced. You can read the
request letter in the Anniversary Planning Project section
of this website. Please try to assist in this major endeavor.
If you have an item for sale
