On 19 May 2008, at the Cumberland Empire Days parade, the Council's new Santa Maria replica float was launched to help proclaim our 50th anniversary celebration this year. The builders, Brothers Leo Gardner (left) and Jim Landry, proudly rode the float through the cheers and appreciative hand-clapping by the thousands of parade watchers lining the route. The two were resplendent in their period costumes, thanks to the sewing skill of Anne Landry.

Many members of our Dr. Tillman Briggs Council #4597 gathered for an official photograph to be published in the 50th Anniversary celebration History Book. Decent weather resulted in a good turnout for Bro. Barry Beardon to capture the faces for posterity.
